According to Hindu Dharma in Krutha Yug Lord Vishnu incarnated his Second Avatar as Sri Kurma Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. Kurma means Tortoise in English. During churning of Ksheera Samudram with Mandara Mountain and Vasuki Snake, Mountain was submerged in sea and Lord Vishnu lifted mountain in form of Kurma known as Sri Kurma Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. Vaushaka Shuklapaksh Purnima is celebrated as Kurma Jayanti next day of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Jayanti. This year 4th May is Kurma Jayanti.
