🐘 Stories of Lord Ganesha

The beloved remover of obstacles and the lord of wisdom

🌟 Birth of Lord Ganesha

Goddess Parvati created Ganesha from sandalwood paste and gave him life to guard her privacy while she bathed. When Lord Shiva returned and was denied entry by the child, a fierce battle ensued. Unaware of Ganesha’s identity, Shiva severed his head in anger.

Seeing Parvati’s grief, Shiva restored the boy to life by placing the head of a young elephant upon his body, blessing him as the leader of the ganas and the remover of obstacles.

🏹 The Guardian of His Mother

The story symbolizes Ganesha’s unwavering devotion to his mother and the importance of duty. Despite facing the mighty Shiva, he stood firm in protecting Parvati, demonstrating courage and loyalty beyond fear.

📚 Lord of Wisdom

Ganesha is revered as the deity of intellect, learning, and new beginnings. He is invoked before any auspicious undertaking to remove obstacles and ensure success.

According to tradition, he also served as the scribe for the Mahabharata, writing down the epic as Sage Vyasa dictated it.

✨ Symbol of Prosperity & Good Fortune

With his large ears symbolizing attentive listening, a curved trunk representing adaptability, and a sweet modak in hand signifying the rewards of spiritual pursuit, Ganesha embodies wisdom, humility, and abundance.

🐘 Lord Ganesha teaches that true strength lies in wisdom, devotion, and perseverance — removing obstacles not only in the world but within ourselves.
